FORD OTOSAN, OYAK-RENAULT AND TOFAŞ RANK AMONG THE TOP ON THE LIST OF TURKEY’S TOP 500 INDUSTRIAL INSTITUTIONS PREPARED BY THE ISTANBUL CHAMBER OF INDUSTRY. HYUNDAI ASSAN, MERCEDES-BENZ TÜRK, TOYOTA AUTOMOTIVE TURKEY ARE ALSO ON THE LIST. ESPECIALLY FORD OTOSAN IS STEADILY INCREASING ITS MARKET SHARE WITH ITS LINE OF LIGHT COMMERCIAL VEHICLES.
There are some important demands for the further development of the industry:
o One of the most noted demands is the rearranging and ultimately lowering of sales taxes to enable the growth of the domestic market.
o Creating incentive programs for the renewal of older vehicles in the vehicle stock is crucial for both safety and environmental reasons. It is also regarded as a policy with a positive impact on the automotive industry.
o Continuation of industrial incentives
o Building and improvement of railroads in order to facilitate the transport of manufactured vehicles especially to the EU market. And also the need for a new port.
o Signing of new free trade agreements
o New arrangements that encourage foreign investments
o Direct joint production with developing markets
o Loan support from Eximbank when entering new markets
o Improvement of education and further development of the labor force
o Continuation of joint projects
o Discovery and development of necessary Quality Management programs in order to be able to compete with the global subsidiary industry
