  • Amerıcan Scıentısts Transforms Plastıc Wastes To Clean Fuel By Chemıcal Process

According to the Science Daily, thanks to the technology that experts at Purdue University developed, more than %90 of polyolefin waste is transformable to pure polymer, gas and those kind different products. Linda Weng, who takes part in team at Purdue University, Davidson Chemical Engineering School, states that this technology will help recycling industry and decreases the plastic waste in our world.

It’s not enough that Plastic Wastes are Recycled and Gathered Around

“These plastics are dissolving at a slow rate. They must be destroyed before they mixed with soil and water. Once it gets into the ocean, it will take tons of time and money for both companies and government.” she says.

Wang hopes that her technology will help to encourage the waste industry to decrease the fast growing plastic waste amount. She and her team are looking for trade innovators and partners to show this technology at commercial stage.

Wang’s innovation is patented by Purdue Research Foundation and Commercialization of Technology Office.

According to the United Nations, every year, more than 8 million tons of plastic is polluting the oceans. Among the plastics that produced in the last 65 years (8.3 billion tons), %12 of them is burned, %9 of them is recycled and %79 of them is sent to solid waste areas or polluted the sea.

World Economy Forum foresees that, if the waters are still being polluted, in the year 2050, there will be more wastes in the oceans than fishes.
