Cash Dıspensıng Vendors In Iceland Markets
In our previous article, we talked about the automats that we want bring our country and encourage free recycling. In this period, while we have to use household economies carefully, another “vending” application that we want to see in our country is coming for the markets. To put it briefly, we can say that “shop with empty plastic bottles ”.
Shoppers earned over £ 30,000 on their first supermarket trial using reverse vending machines to reduce the disposal of plastic bottles. The idea of a supermarket chain in Iceland began to reward customers with a coupon worth 10p (pounds) if each plastic bottle purchased from that store was brought back after use. It included the establishment of specially designed vending machines in Wolverhampton, Mold, Fulham and Musselburgh and four stores in Iceland’s head office, Deeside.
Statistics show that 311,500 plastic bottles have been recycled since the project was launched in June. The supermarket says children are particularly interested in the bottle recycling program and even encourages their parents to use the machines.
Iceland’s general manager Richard Walker said: “Iceland has been doing a lot of work to promote the recycling of plastics. We have gained invaluable information about both the consumer’s interest and the functionality of the plans, and we have given awards to consumers in order to make this a general behavior. ”
Iceland became the first UK supermarket to install reverse vending machines but others have quickly followed their lead. Tesco, Morrisons and Co-op all run trials, but the results are not yet published. Greenpeace looks happy and supports the situation.
