End Of Thırst In The Wılderness

  • End Of Thırst In The Wılderness

The most basic requirement for Man is water after oxygen. The first step to survive in nature is to obtain drinkable water. Since it can take time to get drinkable water in nature like it can hunting, once you have determined where to camp, the first thing you need to do is to prepare one or more of the water collection methods to get the most simple drinking water, and you can get enough water to drink while you are preparing a shelter, searching for food. Even if you don’t do any of these, this way, you can get drinking water while waiting for help.

If you have a preparedness for survival, or a few simple materials, your domination of nature will continue. For example, imagine how useful it would be for you to have a lighter to burn a fire. Or a simple candy bag. We may not remember the teacher lecturing about what can be done in life with a candy bag during the class of survival.

Methods Of Obtaining Drinking Water In Nature

First of all, as the water you will obtain will be just enough for you to survive, if you have water with you it will be necessary for you to use it thrifty. If not, it will be necessary for you to act to prevent dehydration. (For example, staying in the sun, sweating, extreme exertion, avoid such movements)

 1. Obtaining Drinking Water From Trees By Sweating Method

Our first method is quite simple. The logic is to convert the evapotranspiration formed in the leaves of trees or plants into water with a bag. We put a flat light ( if possible) stone, that will not pierce the bag, into the bag and tie it to the leaves of a green (leafy, living, breathing) tree. (Make sure there is no hole in the bag because water will be collected to the point closest to ground) if there is no tree, you can apply it to large plants (if it is spiky, make sure it won’t pierce the bag). It’s important that the bag doesn’t get air.

2. Obtaining Drinking Water In Nature With Water Retort Method

The water retort system is also quite simple. Moreover, it provides the opportunity to obtain water even in the most dry environment. Especially if you prepare the night in the summer, the next day when the weather is warm, your water will be ready. The materials required are plastic tarp or similar plastic nylon, containers for storing water, shovel or similar tools to dig a few pits. An ideal water retort width of 100cm depth can be up to 70cm, but you can make it smaller according to the bag in your hand. The water, which evaporates from the soil by heating the sun’s air, accumulates on the plastic surface and is collected into a container drop by drop.

Dig the hole first. Place the container in the middle of the pit where you want the water to be filled. In a situation where water can spill over, make sure that your water container does not fall down by embedding a part of the container in the ground. Open the nylon on the pit, the middle part of the nylon should stretch to the mouth of the container you put in the middle of the pit. To prevent the nylon from slipping from the sides of the pit, first fix it with stones and then close the soil and prevent it from getting air. Put a round stone that would not pierce the bag, on the bag. Water drops will accumulate at this end and drip into the container.

3. Obtaining Drinking Water From Sea Water

It is prepared by putting a small container in the middle of a container or a pit filled with sea water. A plastic bag is stretched on the container and placed in the middle of the plastic bag according to the size of the container and the stone is placed on the container, as is the case with the retort technique, the Salt portion of the evaporated sea water remains in the big container and drinking water is obtained. Sea water will be purified.

4. Obtaining Drinking Water From Snow And Ice

In winter and high mountains, eating snow and ice directly causes us to feel thirstier. Therefore, it would be more appropriate to melt the snow and ice. The snow and ice melted with fire is very weak in terms of electrolytes, it is better to drink tea from this water by brewing. Many plants in nature can be used as a tea. Snow and ice can be dirty most of the time. After melting snow and ice, it would be good to filter with a piece of cloth.

Water That Will Not Be Used as Direct Drinking Water in Nature

As the name suggests Survival activities in nature are done to survive. But sometimes, because of lack of information or desperation, in order to eliminate the need for most basic survival item water; we need to know what to do as much as we need to know what not to do. Collecting water from nature is sometimes dangerous. If wild animals also use the water resources you use, predatory animals should be considered.

Urinate is never drunk
Salty waters like sea water increase thirst
When the snow is eaten directly, it causes sore throat infections and does not eliminate thirst
If there is an animal dead in a source, that water is undrinkable
River water near cities should not be drunk unless filtered
