Moscow is worth a visit from all aspects
Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation, is one of the cities that left its mark on the 20th century. During the socialist period, the capital of the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc in a broad sense, it was one of the two centers of the world for almost 60 years. It is still one of the most important cities in the world. Moscow will host 2020 Interplastica Moscow.
Moscow is the capital of the country in the western part of the Russian Federation, in the center of the region with the highest population density. Like many major European cities, Moscow is built around the river. Founded as a principality in the 1300s, the city has maintained its importance since its establishment and took its place in history as one of the centers of the bipolar world in the 20th century. Moscow, an important city in the history of the world, will host Interplastica Moscow on 28-31 January 2020. The fair is one of the major trade fairs in the region for machinery and equipment for the plastics and rubber industry, raw materials and auxiliary materials, plastic and rubber products, services additives for the plastics and rubber industry.
Which places are worth visiting?
Although Moscow is concentrated in the center as places to visit, it is far from the propaganda of the thick-walled, disturbing city that was blown in the west, especially during the Soviet period. The city center and its surroundings are full of sculptures, architecturally valuable buildings, parks and museums. A metropolitan city in Eastern Europe. Of course, the modern architecture of the last period is also present in the city.
Moscow is the richest city in Russia. In other words, if you want to see around the city before and after the fair, we have prepared a small guide for you :
Red Square, Kremlin Palace, St. Vasil’s Cathedral, Bolshoi Theater and Gorky Park are the most popular places on our list of places to visit in Moscow.
In the 14th century, Moscow, as a principality in its own right, is a city rich in history, appealing to all types of travelers. The fact that the city has become the capital of Russia since 1480 has a major role in this wealth. In this way, the city not only improved in terms of economy and architecture, but also increased its cultural accumulation considerably.
If you want to visit all the places we recommend, you have to plan at least 3-4 days for Moscow. I recommend you to download the map and translation applications to your smart devices or update them if you have any problems before taking this holiday. Because both the number of foreign language speakers and place-direction signs in the city are prepared only in the Cyrillic alphabet.
Like many travelers, iconic Red Square is on the top of your list of attractions in Moscow. The square is 400 meters long and 150 meters wide and is covered with cut stone. From the 15th century onwards, the death penalty has been witnessed, demonstrations, parades and rallies were also witnessed.
The area adjacent to the walls to the northeast of the Kremlin has been named since the 17th century. Krasnaya, the original name of the square alone, was used in Old Russian to mean beautiful rather than red.
The Kremlin is followed by St. Vasil’s Cathedral and Lenin’s Mausoleum. Next to the cathedral, there is the platform called The Place of the Skulls where decree and proclamations have been read for centuries.
Once you reach the square, you can also see the Minin & Pozharsky Monument and head to the GUM Shopping Center if you want to buy something.
Recommendation for accomodation: 5 star Four Seasons Hotel Moscow is one of the most beautiful and luxurious hotels in the area where you can stay.
Tour Advice: If you wish, you can explore the region with guided tours by joining the Kremlin and the Red Square Hotel Pickup with a 2-Hour Tour.
The Kremlin Palace, which covers the Borovitsky Hill on the northern bank of the Moscow River, was originally built in the 12th century using wooden material. However, when this building was demolished as a result of the Mongol attacks, the construction of the current building complex was initiated between 1482-1495.
The construction of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower, which adds magnificence to the palace surrounded by a defense wall exceeding 2 kilometers in total length, was completed in the early 17th century.
The Kremlin Palace is known as the place where the state has been ruled since the 3rd Ivan period. Apart from the official residence of the Russian president, there are 5 cathedrals and guns in the building complex which are used as museums today.
Once the center of the Orthodox church, the palace can only be visited for museums and the bell tower. The Russian national treasury draws the most attention among the permanent collections exhibited in the palace, which is accessed through the Kutafya Tower.
Tour Advice: Moscow: Visit the Kremlin Ticket and 2-Hour Group Tour with a guided tour of this magnificent palace.
Located on the south side of the Red Square, St. Vasily Cathedral was built between 1555-1561 under the order of Ivan the Terrible, who gained the advantage over the Tatars by gaining the Kazan Fortress. Just like the construction of the Kremlin Palace, the cathedral, which was assisted by Italian architects during its construction, is actually composed of 10 adjacent chapels.
Each of the 4 main chapels with large domes is known by different names. The other four, which are covered with smaller domes, take on the task of honoring the battles and victories with Kazan. The remaining two chapels were added later.
The Cathedral of St. Vasili, which has gained worldwide fame thanks to its architectural features, now serves as a museum. In addition to its collection, you can see the tomb of the saint named after him on the ground floor of the religious building, which is admired by its guests with its interior decorations.
The Bolshoi Theater, designed by Joseph Bové, the iconic building in neoclassical style, was founded in 1776 by Prince Pyotr Urusov, who gave permission to perform events such as theater performances and ball.
Bolshoi continued its activities under the imperial theater until the October Revolution. Today, the building, which is home to the impressive performances of the Bolshoi Ballet Group, has been rebuilt many times due to various disasters, especially fire.
Since 1918, a part of the Bolshoi Theater has been operating as a museum. In this museum, archival materials used in stage shows are exhibited.
While visiting the museum, you will have the opportunity to review posters and program booklets of performances staged in various years. You can visit the historical stage of the theater building by attending guided tours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 11.30.
Lenin’s Mausoleum, built by architect Aleksey Shchusev, was built between 1924-1930. According to the official documents, the construction of such a structure was ordered by Stalin, who, after the death of the founder of the Soviet Union Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, could not remain indifferent to the intense demands of the people. In his will, Lenin wanted his body to be buried in the family cemetery in Leningrad.
On the west side of Red Square, close to the Senate Tower, the cube-shaped red granite symbolizes communism and the black moonstone symbolizes mourning. The mausoleum’s 100 square meter interior is divided into a lobby and a mourning hall. Lenin’s embalmed body is preserved in the glass sarcophagus in the mourning room. Just behind the sarcophagus are the graves of other important Soviet statesmen.
The German Federal Ministry of Economy and Energy (BMWi), which is supported by the VDMA’s Association of Plastics and Rubber Machinery, will once again participate with an official joint German participation. Other national participants will come from Italy, Austria and China. We will participate as a large number of companies from Turkey.
