In cases where education and training were incomplete, mankind has felt the need to feel safe by taking shelter in these problems and solutions throughout history and in a supernatural entity or power. Actually, there is not much need to look at history. After the pandemic is declared, many societies from the coronavirus continue to live their lives by taking shelter in these supernatural beings and powers. Whereas, believing or not believing in a supernatural entity or power is a completely personal choice, as well as if we do not take precautions, will that supernatural entity or power that is believed not punish us for being imprudent when we look at it with the same logic? Over the centuries these values or beliefs have been unconditionally accepted or discussed. We are in the world that is not discussed much te same time we want to talk about the evil eye bead, which is almost a symbol of Turkey.
Evil eye bead is believed to protect people from evil eyes. Throughout history, in most cultures and religious beliefs, the eye figure has been considered a powerful talisman to evade evil. Nazar beads have been given names such as munçuk, moncuk, monşak, monçak, monçok, and muyınçak in the Turkish communities in history, and some of these terms are used in the languages of some nations today. It means "Bead" as a word. These are precious stones worn on the neck of a person or a horse; things like lion's nails, amulets. Attila Khan's father's name is also Muncuk. In Turkish folk belief, Albıs and Gökçe Munçuk are very afraid, which lies at the root of the concept of Nazar Boncuğu. The word Kotaz is another word used to mean Evil Eye bead. It is argued that the eye is protected because it diverts attention. It is said that very strong evil eyes crack the cotases (evil eye beads) and even break them into pieces. As a word it means holy object. The terms Köşgük and çom are used in the same sense and mean evil eye.
Generally, evil eye beads are shaped like eyes. Eye is also called bead. In this context, the eye is a person's window to the world, and the eye is regarded as the starting point of all kinds of good and bad thoughts. For this reason, blue stones, which are believed to have absorbent properties, have been used for many years to protect them from glances and bad eyes. And it took its final form as a variety of present-day evil eye beads. Nowadays, many people keep the evil eye bead in places that they use frequently in their daily lives, both as a belief, tradition and as an ornament. While the evil eye bead is being made, lead is poured into it. This is said to bring good luck. According to the old folk belief, it is not possible for the blue glass and plastic beads to be spoiled. These beads have essential features. For example, according to some masters, there should be a yellow eye on blue. In addition, it must have been melted in a special place (with a protective spirit, ie, Iyeli / Eyelu, according to older folk beliefs) in the form of Eye Care. The establishment of the evil eye bead hearths was also carried out in the past with a special ceremony. No other glass work is done in this hearth, only evil eye beads are made. So much so that the master who makes other glassware in the same workshop uses only the main furnace to produce the evil eye bead. In addition, a real evil eye bead must be made by hand, and beads mass-produced with machines do not mean anything other than an ornament.
Evil eye beads, which are used and gifted in every field, are also produced from resin as plastic. Among the types of plastic evil eye beads, there are designs embroidered on blue, pink and white ground. When you give it as a gift to a non-Turkish person, it creates admiration with its fascinating colors and design. If you give a gift to a Turkish person, the person who receives a gift feels valuable, feels that you care.
No matter which point of view and in what sense you look at, the evil eye bead will attract value in every sense and will continue to attract value.
