ITALIAN CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS MANUFACTURER TEMA IS BUILDING A 4,000 SQUARE-METER FACILITY IN WEST VIRGINIA, WHERE IT WILL PRODUCE INSULATION AND DRAINAGE PRODUCTS FROM RECYCLED PLASTICS.
The plant, where most of the manufacturing will be carried out by robotic systems, will operate around-the-clock. The number of employees on the plant will be limited to 30. TeMa will begin its US operations this fall. The company is investing about $10 million in the facility, which will be called TeMa North America LLC. The facility will have three extrusion lines where dimpled mem-branes made from recycled high-density polyethylene and polypropylene will be manufactured.
TeMa operates in the composite materials and environmental solutions markets. The new facility will be the company’s fifth manufacturing plant after those in Italy, Spain, Turkey and Russia. The company’s North America CEO Tony Ciotti said that TeMa North America will ship to cus-tomers in the US and Canada, and the company is expected to see its profits in these two mar-kets grow. Ciotti added that decision to open the facility was taken not only to expand the existing market but also to provide faster deliveries with lower costs.
