Towards The Champıons League In Plastıcs Industry

Although unknown by many citizens, the place of Turkey in plastics industry is undeniable. Maybe we may not be in the champions league for the time being, but the players of the sector can easily open more easily with the right steps. Especially in the light of China’s small regressions, some gaps can be filled in our country. We need to be aware that we have this potential. Nevertheless, due to the rising difference of the dollar / TL parity, a decline is also mentioned.

According to the data released by the cooperation of Customs and Trade Ministry and the Turkey Statistical Institute (TSI), compared with the same month a year earlier, Turkey’s exports and imports in March has come out to be 15.4 billion dollars and 17.4 billion dollars with declines of respectively 0,4% and 17,8%.

Despite all these regressions, we expect an absolute rise in the coming periods. It is not even a matter of time for us to catch up on the momentum due to those who play cards correctly and fill the sector deficits.

Meanwhile, in March Turkey’s foreign trade deficit fell by 2.13 billion dollars with a 63.7% decline. Seasonally and calendar adjusted exports and imports decreased by 2.4% and 2.5% compared to the previous month. In March, cleaned from calendar effects, Turkey’s export volume index increased by 2.6% compared to the previous year, while imports recorded a 15% decline.

Great Britain (855 million dollars), Italy (827 million dollars) and Iraq (782 million dollars), followed Germany which is the toppest exporting country of Turkey with 1.40 billion dollars. In March, the countries which exported the most to Turkey were respectively Russia (1.96 billion dollars), Germany (1.61 billion dollars), China (1.40 billion dollars) and the US (940 million dollars).
