THE WHITE GOODS INDUSTRY IN TURKEY HAS ITS FIRST ACTIVITY BASED ON THE ASSEMBLY INDUSTRY IN 1955. GROWING GROWTH FROM 1955 TO THE PRESENT, IT HAS BECOME THE WORLD'S SECOND MOST IMPORTANT MANUFACTURER.

This success of white goods brought it to be one of the locomotive sectors of the Turkish economy among other sectors. Thus, in addition to production and exports, the sector has assumed the leadership in important issues such as technology, innovation and employment.

 

 

In 2017, the production of 4 main products (refrigerator, oven, washing machine, dishwasher) increased by 8.4% to 28.4 million units.

 

Domestic sales grew by 14%, reaching 8.5 million, especially with the effect of the SCT reduction between February and September.

 

 

 

Capacity utilization in 2017 increased by 0.9 points to 78.7%.

 

While the sector exported approximately 75% of its production, exports grew by 5.6% and reached 20.6 million.

The share of the 5 countries (England, Germany, France, Italy and Spain) where exports are most intense is close to 50%.

 

Regarding exports to EU countries, Turkey has a 50% logistics cost advantage over the world white goods production leader, China.

 

95% of the white goods sold in Turkey are produced in Turkey.

 

It is estimated that the white goods industry directly employs 40.00 people, together with its by-products and suppliers, approximately 500.00 people.

 

Three of the Turkish white goods sector are in the top 30 in the ISO 500 list.

 

The most important raw material inputs of the sector are plastic with 50% and then sheet metal with 40%.

 

With 1,500 patents, the white goods sector is one of the leading sectors in Turkey in this field.
