Extrajudical Execution

  • Extrajudical Execution

The use of plastic materials is an issue that has been discussed for many years. Among the plastic materials that face many different accusations, there is one that we encounter in almost every part of our daily life. Who doesn't like much; It is now considered normal to take steps to restrict its use and even ban it directly in certain regions. But does the plastic bag deserve all these accusations?

It would not be wrong to say that significant progress has been made in the recycling of plastic waste, especially in the last 20 years. The technology we have reached allows us to recycle almost all plastic products. As a natural consequence of these advanced technologies, we can also recycle plastic bags to a great extent. Despite this, large-scale campaigns are carried out against the use of plastic, and the use of different materials is prominent in order to prevent the use of plastic. The most prominent of the materials that have been offered as an alternative and started to be used on a large scale recently is paper.

So is the use of paper really an eco-friendly alternative? Aren't the charges against plastic valid for this "eco-friendly" material? The data we have shows us that the production of paper bags causes 50 percent more water pollution and 70 percent more air pollution than plastic. The fact that paper is recyclable and made from recycled materials is also not an answer; The same is true for plastic bags.

Preventing the use of plastic bags does not seem like a good solution for environmental pollution. Instead, producing plastic bags from recyclable materials, raising awareness of the society on recycling, taking "sincere and solution-oriented" steps in the name of recycling and strengthening infrastructure investments will provide us with more concrete solutions in order to prevent environmental pollution. The steps to be taken in the opposite direction will not go beyond delaying the problem.

All of these aside, there are many among us who say needs aside. When you go to the market, isn't it plastic bags that help you at the end of that long shopping? Isn't it plastic bags that give you strength when you want to carry any object? In some markets, cardboard boxes are offered free of charge, but after those cardboard boxes are used, they are not condemned to their fate just like plastic bags.

Let a certain human being deceive himself, but in every field there is a plastic screaming the truth in their faces… and it is screaming out the truth to you. Nothing happens without plastic, nothing!!! Whether it is useful, cheap, light or fast, there is only one industry that responds to these, and that is the plastics industry.
