Masks Fall
A virus emerges suddenly and notifies everyone. We are running here and there with gloves like donkeys and mask disinfectants on our face. Everyone's masks have fallen, and the strong capitals have become able to ask for help, while the cultural capitals have come out of chaos. Masked superheroes emerged in the world, when health systems were insufficient and treatment was uncertain. All healthcare workers took off the task of falling global monsters and robbed a relentless war for humanity. Masks, one of the most powerful weapons in this war, should be used correctly and chosen correctly.
N95, FFP2 and FFP3 types are very preferred in mask selection. We would like to give information about the technical properties of the masks that have filtering properties and are used as respiratory protection against particles.
These are masks that provide three-layer respiratory isolation with the type N95 substance used by healthcare workers.
FFP2 protection class respirators are manufactured for working environments where hazardous and mutagenic particles may be present in the air. Respirators of this class should hold at least 94% of the particles up to 0.6 μm and can be used in environments where the OEL violation is up to ten times the intensity. The same is true for TRK value (technical reference density). FFP2 protection class respirators are mostly used in the iron and mining industries. Those working in these industries are often exposed to aerosols, soot and smoke. This, in turn, can cause respiratory diseases such as lung cancer. In addition, they carry a very high risk of secondary disease and pulmonary tuberculosis. The carbon layered uvex filter system not only provides the necessary respiratory protection, but also protects users from unpleasant odors.
FFP3 protection class respirators offer maximum protection in the area of inhalation of air pollution. Total leakage can be a maximum of 5%, and these masks must filter 99% of all particles up to 0.6 μm. This mask also filters toxic, oncogene and radioactive particles. FFP3 protection grade masks are used in work environments that violate industry-specific OEL values thirty times. They are mostly used in the chemical industry.
FF: Face Filter
P1: Non-toxic powders produced by mechanical work.
P2: Toxic powders, powders with MAK values greater than 0.1 mg / m3.
P3: Toxic, carcinogenic, radioactive powders and powders with MAK values less than 0.1 mg / m3.
S : Solid and water-based liquid particles.
L : Solid and oil-based liquid particles.
This Standard was renewed in 2001 as the new European Standard EN 149: 2001 Dust masks and protection levels in masks were increased.
Experts say very differently about the use of masks. While some experts recommend the mask, some experts argue that the mask increases the risk of contamination, as we constantly take it to our face due to the mask. The only real healthcare worker we know of needs superheroes' masks more than anyone else.
