Micro Art
l'art pour l'art may not be a slogan you've heard before, but if we say "art for art" or "art is for art", everyone will say we heard. Art is generally understood as the expression of creativity and imagination. Throughout history, ideas about what to call art have constantly changed, and new definitions have been created by introducing various restrictions on this broad understanding over time. Today, the term art can be used as a very simple and clear concept by many people, and it is a heated debate in academic circles as to how art can be defined, even whether it can be defined. The word art is generally used to mean visual arts. Although the current usage of the word is close to the word "art" in English, under the influence of western culture, it is used in a wider sense among the people.
Today, art does not have a very simple and clear meaning. Everyone defines art internally through the window they look at and the techniques they use, just like the micro sculptor 51-year-old David Alan Lindon we will talk about.
Lindon works as a production engineer at a manufacturing company. With the skills he has developed while working with precision devices in the aircraft industry, he suddenly finds himself in shaping and carving all kinds of things. Using an old microscope, he began to create life's familiar objects or objects that never existed in life like a mad scientist. Lindon, who started to make shapes to impress his family, constantly worked to do better with the criticism from his family and nowadays made a sound by engraving a small dalmatian in the eye of the needle. Besides the impressive Dalmatian, David has planted a small red parrot perched on a branch, a red-eyed tree frog embracing the tip of a needle, and a Grenadier Guardian inside the eye of a needle. Lindon loves to diversify his art as much as possible, creating sculptures using hand tools he made and modifying each microscope he uses to suit his particular needs.
Microscope is a device that enables the examination of the images of objects that are too small to be seen with the naked eye by magnifying them with the help of several lenses. First of all, as the name suggests, besides the examination of micro, ie very small cells, it also provides great services in the field of industry, menacure, genetics, geology, archeology and criminalistics. The mechanical part of the microscope has a foot, microscope arm (microscope body), table, tongs, carriage arm, revolver, microscope tube and adjustment screws (coarse adjustment and fine adjustment buttons). In the optical part, there are ocular, lenses, diaphragm, condenser and light source. Plastic is used on the microscope body and its accessories used at the same time in many parts. The different properties of the plastic in different microscopes vary according to the area of use. In order for our children to become familiar with science and who knows, maybe they can develop different currents in the field of micro sculpting, children can start with plastic microscopes.
Art for art or art for society… in both cases it is art and people that win.
