Mırror Mırror On The Wall
How do we know which material we need to use for the project with the many different types of materials we are presented today? Prices may vary greatly. Exchange situations are known after all. Therefore, you must make sure that you select the right projected plastic for the job at hand. Personally, if you’re a clumsy person and don’t want to spend the next 100 years unlucky, you should use this type of mirror in your home. We say that because maybe when you accidentally break, your superstition can be triggered.
Here, we will look at the different properties between Mirrored Acrylic and Polycarbonate Mirrored Covers.
Mirrored Acrylic
Mirrored Acrylic usually comes in sheet form. It is a lightweight material that offers excellent reflection similar to mirror glass. This product, which is 100 times stronger than glass, is used to make safety mirrors in various industries.
Acrylic Mirrors can be cleaned by applying a simple solution of warm water and soap. Some chemicals may damage the acrylic material and cause scratches, so check the label of ready-to-use cleaning solutions.
Although weatherproof, acrylic mirrors are often used in indoor applications. Acrylic Mirrors are easy to work with. A blade can be cut with a scraper and it is also possible to drill without breaking. Acrylic is ideal for short-term projects, offering 50% less cost than polycarbonate mirror sheets.
Polycarbonate Mirrors
Polycarbonate Mirror also comes in sheet form. Extremely lightweight (about one-third of glass weight) provides superior optical clarity, making glass mirrors a preferred material in areas where they will be unsafe or very heavy.
Polycarbonate mirrors, which are approximately 250 times stronger than glass, are virtually unbreakable and become bulletproof when the sheet exceeds a certain thickness. Polycarbonate mirrors are highly resistant to chemicals such as gasoline and acid, so they can be cleaned with most purchased cleaning solutions. However, capillary scratches may occur, so be careful when using a new cleaning solution.
Fully weather resistant Polycarbonate copes well with temperature changes. It can expand and contract without causing permanent damage. It is a popular choice for outdoor applications. Polycarbonate is a bit difficult to cut, but this feature makes it easier to drill than Acrylic. There is much less chance of cracking or crumbling. Polycarbonate mirror sheets can be expensive, but it is an investment for a long-term project.
