The Rest Of The Race Will Disappear

  • The Rest Of The Race Will Disappear

Regardless of the type, the recycling turned into a complete race. Every state is working, researching and investing in every brand recycling. Making products from recycled raw materials, adding life to the economy while protecting nature is a matter of prestige. The state and brands that remain in this race are doomed to disappear, not only to have difficulties in the future…

In race cars, this race has become even more heated. In Motorsports, engineers work for years to figure out how to build a fast car first. Then they said We should be lighter than speed. And now brands are in the race to make recyclable sports cars.

Porsche, one of these brands, is one step ahead in recycling for front and rear aprons, front spoilers and front rear covers in its vehicles. The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR, which overcame this year's 24-hour Nürburgring race in late September, for the first time had a complete body kit made of natural fibre composite materials.

Since the beginning of 2019, Porsche has produced the two doors and rear wing of its small series racing car, primarily from a blend of natural fibers derived from renewable raw materials. Now for the first time, the front and rear aprons, the front windbreaker, the front and rear covers, as well as the fenders containing the aerodynamic wings, the diffuser are also made of this regenerative material.

These materials replace the metal and plastic injection molded components of the sports car. In terms of weight and hardness, recyclable natural fiber composite materials of non-structural components have similar properties to carbon fiber composites (CFRP) and meet the same high standards of safety and quality. Natural fiber composites are produced more economically and with less energy.

Materials with different thicknesses and fiber orientations allow precise adjustment to specific purposes and load scenarios. Natural fiber composite materials are especially suitable for areas that are not part or only part of the vehicle structure. Moreover, the absorption of vibrations increases fivefold, breaking into larger and less sharp pieces in the event of an accident.

Equipped with a natural fiber composite material body kit and powered by a 3.8 litre engine producing 313 kW (425 hp), the 718 Cayman GT4 MR took part in the Nürburgring 24-hour race with the starting number 420.

In the future, that is, in the near future, we will hear more about natural fiber composite materials. Don't fall behind in the race.
