Fine Touches
Crazy organizations, incredible designs, visual feasts and launches fascinate us in every aspect of our lives. Our clothes should reflect fashion, our cars should convey our soul, our electronic devices should be unique to us. There is almost a race for products that are unique in the world. So how can we reflect ourselves from fashion to interior designs, from automotive to yachting, from aviation to electronic products? This fascinating product, the name of which many of us do not know, is ALCANTARA ...
Alcantara is a microfiber material produced and marketed by Alcantara S.p.A and is primarily used in design, fashion, accessories, consumer electronics, automotive and marine industries. Although the company is an Italian company and a registered trademark, the material was developed in the early 1970s by Miyoshi Okamoto, a scientist working at the Japanese chemical company Toray Industries. Around 1972, in a joint venture between the Italian chemical company Eni and Toray, he founded Alcantara SpA to manufacture and distribute the material. The company is currently owned by Toray and Mitsui Group. Alcantara is produced by combining an advanced spinning process, chemical and textile production processes. Alcantara consists of approximately 68% polyester and 32% polyurethane, providing increased durability and stain resistance. The look and feel of the material is similar to suede clothing and can be described as such. The word Alcantara is derived from the Arabic word 'al qantara', meaning 'bridge'. So we can say that Alcantara fabric is a bridge between animal skin and cotton fabric.
Alcantara is currently used as a flame retardant driver seat material for Formula 1 racing cars, including Williams Martini Racing 2011 FW33 cars. In particular, many car manufacturers use this material in their special models and sports cars. It also includes a cover for the Sennheiser HD800, Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear and Bose QuietComfort 35, as well as the keyboard cover of Microsoft's Surface Pro 4, the keyboard of the Surface Laptop, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 + smartphone cover. Alcantara has also been used in SpaceX's Crew Dragon 2 capsule. Alcantara is also popular with individual users in designing their cars and reflecting their own soul.
Alcantara, popular for its stylish and suede look, creates very different looks and touch feelings on the keyboards. In interior designs, it is almost a symbol of vanity. It is preferred because it is much cheaper than leather and is a very good equivalent to animal skin.
With Alcantara, you can start designing and customizing important products in your life.
